Job Description
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) Intern, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our company. You will be responsible for generating leads and qualifying potential customers, ultimately contributing to the overall sales pipeline. This internship opportunity will provide you with hands-on experience in sales and a comprehensive understanding of the sales development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and research potential customers through various channels such as online research, social media platforms, industry events, and outbound prospecting techniques.
- Qualification: Conduct initial outreach and engage with leads to determine their level of interest and sales readiness. Qualify leads based on predetermined criteria and effectively communicate their potential value to the sales team.
- Cold Calling and Emailing: Utilize phone calls, emails, and other communication tools to establish contact with prospects. Articulate our value proposition and generate interest in our products or services.
- Sales Funnel Management: Update and maintain accurate records of all lead generation activities and customer interactions in the customer relationship management (CRM) system. Track progress and report on key performance metrics.
- Collaboration with Sales Team: Collaborate closely with the sales team, providing them with qualified leads and supporting their efforts to convert leads into sales opportunities.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activities to identify potential opportunities and challenges for the company.
- Continuous Learning and Development: Actively participate in training sessions and leverage available resources to enhance your sales skills and knowledge of our products or services.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets and exceed expectations - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales productivity tools is a plus
Prior experience in sales, customer service, or lead generation is desirable but not required
Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or recently graduated)
Duration and Compensation:
This is a paid internship position with a duration of 12 months. The compensation for this internship position will be structured in alignment with sales performance and achievements. The details of the compensation plan, including commission structure and incentive opportunities, will be discussed and provided upon acceptance of the position. This ensures that your efforts and contributions to generating sales leads and driving business growth are appropriately recognized and rewarded.
